MTRDC DRDO Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow Posts

The Microwave Tube Research & Development Centre (MTRDC), Bengaluru, a constituent laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defence, has invited eligible Indian citizens for a walk-in interview for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) posts.

MTRDC JRF Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates applying for the JRF positions must meet the prescribed educational qualifications. Eligible candidates include those with a First Division B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics or specified related engineering disciplines along with a valid NET or GATE qualification.

Candidates with a First Division M.Sc. in Electronics with NET can also meet the requirement. Another route is a First Division M.E./M.Tech qualification in Electronics, Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering, with First Class at both the graduate and postgraduate levels.

The upper age limit is 28 years. Relaxation is applicable as per the prescribed rules, including up to five years for SC, ST and PwD candidates and three years for OBC candidates, subject to valid category certificates.

The selected Junior Research Fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 plus HRA as applicable. The initial tenure is two years, with provision for extension by up to another two years depending on performance and organisational requirements.
