Bhopal, October 6, 2026: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination will be conducted twice a year from 2027. The announcement comes amid concerns and protests related to the state public service examination process and is aimed at providing aspirants with more opportunities to appear for the competitive exam.

Yadav made the announcement while addressing the CM Youth Conclave-2026 in Bhopal on Tuesday. Along with increasing the frequency of MPPSC examinations, the chief minister announced several measures aimed at supporting students, researchers and young people preparing for competitive examinations.
Under the proposed change, MPPSC aspirants will get two opportunities every year to appear for the state civil services examination from 2027. The move is expected to benefit candidates who miss an examination cycle or want another opportunity to improve their chances of qualifying.
The chief minister also announced plans to provide free coaching for competitive examinations in government colleges across Madhya Pradesh. The initiative is expected to help students from economically weaker backgrounds access preparation support without having to depend entirely on private coaching institutes.
Yadav also announced an increase in the monthly stipend provided to researchers in higher education. The stipend is proposed to rise from Rs 16,000 to Rs 25,000 per month.
The increase is aimed at encouraging research and helping students and scholars pursue advanced academic work. The government has also outlined plans to strengthen higher education infrastructure through new institutions.
The Madhya Pradesh government plans to establish 12 new medical colleges and 12 skill universities. According to the chief minister, the skill universities will focus on employment-oriented courses designed to improve students' industry-relevant skills.
During the interaction, Yadav also spoke about strengthening the connection between agriculture and food processing. He said the government plans to develop a value chain extending from farms to food-processing industries, potentially creating additional opportunities for farmers and young people.
The chief minister highlighted the state's growing focus on artificial intelligence and the startup ecosystem. He said work is underway on an AI city in Bhopal as part of the state's efforts to develop a technology-driven economy.
Yadav also highlighted the government's startup support programme, under which eligible young entrepreneurs can receive a subsidy of up to Rs 5 lakh.
Sports development is also expected to receive greater attention from the Madhya Pradesh government in 2027. Yadav said the state will continue promoting sporting talent and improving sports infrastructure.
He pointed to the performance of Madhya Pradesh athletes at the recently held Asian Games, where sportspersons from the state won five medals. The government has also included sports as a subject and is working towards improving opportunities for coaches and athletes.
Yadav further announced plans to build stadiums in every Assembly constituency. He said Madhya Pradesh has been making progress in disciplines such as shooting and archery and that sports will remain one of the government's major priorities in 2027.
