MP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: MPESB Opens Applications for 7,500 Vacancies

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has started the online application process for the Police Constable (General Duty) Recruitment Test 2026. The recruitment drive is being conducted for 7,500 Constable GD vacancies under the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the MPESB schedule, applications can be submitted from September 22 to October 6, 2026, while the application correction facility will remain available until October 11, 2026. MP Police Constable Vacancy 2026: 7,500 Posts

The vacancies have been divided between the Special Armed Force (SAF) and Constable GD posts outside the SAF cadre.

The 700 SAF posts are for male candidates, while the 6,800 posts outside SAF are available to eligible male and female candidates. The recruitment also includes prescribed provisions for ex-servicemen, Home Guards and women within the applicable vacancy structure.

MP Police Constable Eligibility 2026

Candidates applying for the Constable GD recruitment generally need to have passed Class 10 under the 10+2 system, Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution. A special relaxation is provided for Scheduled Tribe candidates, for whom Class 8 pass or equivalent is accepted under the recruitment rules.

The minimum age is 18 years, while the base upper age limit is 33 years, calculated with reference to October 6, 2026. Applicable age relaxations are provided under the recruitment rules for eligible categories.

Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh can apply against applicable unreserved vacancies, while Madhya Pradesh domicile requirements apply for claiming state-specific reservation and related benefits.

MP Police Constable Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The paper will contain 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of two hours. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers under the current examination pattern.

Candidates who qualify the written examination according to the prescribed criteria will proceed to the physical stage and other subsequent recruitment formalities.

MP Police Constable Selection Process 2026

The selection process includes the written examination followed by Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Shortlisted candidates are subsequently required to complete document verification and medical examination as prescribed.

The PET for Constable GD includes events such as the 800-metre run, long jump and shot put, with physical performance contributing to the recruitment process according to the notified rules.

MP Police Constable Application Fee 2026

The examination fee structure includes the prescribed MPESB and departmental charges. For unreserved candidates, the fee is ₹500 as the ESB examination fee plus ₹200 as the departmental fee, making ₹700 before the applicable portal charge.

For eligible SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates of Madhya Pradesh, the fee is ₹250 as the ESB fee plus ₹100 as the departmental fee, totalling ₹350 before the portal charge. An additional portal fee of ₹60 through an MPOnline kiosk or ₹20 for registered citizen users is applicable, as prescribed.
