Ministry of Health Releases Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) For Conducting Exams
Ministry of Health has released Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for conducting examinations to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health And Family Welfare (MoHFW) has released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting the examinations. It has released the SOP on preventive measures to be followed while conducting examinations to contain spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The SOP guidelines issued by MoHFW will be serving as mandatory rules to universities and colleges on the safety measures they need to be taken for conducting exams or facilities need to be offered for students.
Ministry of Health has issued SOP considering the huge gatherings at the exam centres of final year semester exams in universities and entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET. It has released the list of generic preventive measures for students. Ministry has also released a set of guidelines for all universities/ educational institutions/ examination conducting authorities/ examination centres.
The official notice reads, "Examination centres are frequented by a large number of students (as well as their parents) and staff till the entire duration of the exam and therefore, it's vital to plan and conduct these examinations, while one should specify the preventive measures."
Generic Preventive Measures For Students
The measures to be observed by all (staff, students and parents) at the exam centres.
- The physical distancing of at least 6 feet.
- Use of face covers/masks to be made mandatory.
- Frequent hand washing with soap (for at least 40-60 seconds).
- The practice of covering one's mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue/ handkerchief/ flexed elbow.
- Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
- Installation of Aarogya Setu App.
