MHT CET CAP Round 4 vacancies: how to check institute-wise seats

Visit fe2026.mahacet.org and open “Provisional Vacancy Position for CAP Round IV.” The PDF lists branch-wise, category-wise seats for every college with a publish date of August 29. Use institute name, code, or district to search. Note the advisory: fill all eligible choice codes even if current vacancy shows zero.

Option form filling and lock: steps and common errors to avoid

Log in, add college–branch codes, arrange priorities carefully, save, then confirm and lock before September 1. Do not forget to lock, misread codes, or rely only on raw vacancies. Keep safe choices high enough, and include both Home and Other University options where eligible. Reorder until satisfied, then generate confirmation.

Freeze vs betterment in Round 4: what you can and cannot do

If you accept the Round 4 allotment, that seat becomes final. There is no betterment after this round. Students who kept betterment earlier remain eligible to upgrade within Round 4; those who froze earlier seats cannot re-enter. Non-reporting after acceptance leads to forfeiture under brochure rules.

Category and EWS certificate validity: documents to keep ready

Carry originals for verification: Caste and Caste Validity, Non‑Creamy Layer valid up to March 31, 2027 where applicable, EWS certificate in state format, domicile, marksheets, and photo ID. Institutes explicitly require these validity timelines during reporting; check your college’s list before traveling. Keep fee receipts and allotment letter handy.

After the September 3 allotment, complete online seat acceptance, pay the fee, finish self‑verification or at a centre, and report to the allotted institute with originals from September 4 to 7. Missing these steps cancels the seat. Prepare a folder, verify category claims, and keep printed acknowledgements ready.
