MBBS Session 2022-23 Session: UGMEB Publishes Phase-Wise Academic Calendar, Curriculum For MBBS

MBBS Session 2022-23 Academic Session: The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) has released an updated phase-by-phase academic calendar and curriculum for the MBBS class of 2022-23. The first phase began on November 15, 2022, and will terminate on December 15, 2023, according to the academic calendar. All deans/principals of medical colleges, as well as registrars and vice-chancellors of concerned universities, may put this policy into effect for MBBS students accepted during the academic year 2022-23. MBBS Batch 2022-23: Academic Curriculum

Phase 1

Date: November 15, 2022 - December 15, 2023
Time duration: 13 months
Time available: Approximately 42 weeks

Phase 2
Date: December 16, 2023 - January 15, 2025
Time duration: 13 months
Time available: Approximately 42 weeks

Phase 3
Date: January 16, 202- November 30, 2025
Time duration: 10.5 months
Time available: Approximately 35 weeks

Phase 4
Date: December 1, 2025 - May 15, 2027
Time duration: 17.5 months
Time available: Approximately 57 weeks

Changes in the MBBS curriculum

• Dermatology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, and Respiratory Medicine theory sessions have progressed to the final phase.
• Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology theory sessions were shortened, and the remaining sessions were moved to the final phase.
• Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology clinical postings have been moved from Phase II of MBBS to Phase III, part I and part II.
• Newer Pandemic Module and Family Adoption Program features are featured in Community Medicine.
• Postings are not permitted during electives.
• Clinical placements have been rescheduled to enhance learning and assist students in adjusting to the introduction of a common national exit test.
• There are no other batches. Supplementary examinations must be completed within one (1) month of the results of regular exams. The results will be announced within a fortnight of the last exam.
