Mathura, February 19: A three-day 'Kisan Mela' is being organised from Feb. 19 on the campus of the Deen Dayal Veterinary college here to create awareness on various new techniques in farming, cattle-feeding and dairying.
"Dr KML Pathak, Deputy Director (Animal Husbandry), ICAR, will inaugurate the fair in which 40 renowned companies, including a few foreign ones, are participating. Farmers would be familiarised with new techniques developed by scientists and modern machinery," said Prof AC Varshney, Vice Chancellor of the Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan here.
Farmers would be given training in cow, goat, poultry and sheep rearing while awards would be given "not only to the progressive farmers, but to healthy cattle and breeding bulls as well", he said.
