The Ministry of Home Affairs proposes to fill 1.30 lakh Constable (General Duty) positions in the CRPF. According to the Ministry's notification, a total of 129929 positions will be filled, with 125262 reserved for male candidates and 4467 reserved for female candidates. For selection to the position of Constable, 10% of the openings will be designated for Ex-Agniveers.

According to the notification, the upper age limit for the first batch of Ex-Agniveers will be relaxed by up to five years. Also, the upper age limit for Ex-Agnives candidates will be relaxed by three years. Ex-engineers are exempt from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).To apply for CRPF Constable Recruitment 2023, the applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 23. The remuneration range for CRPF General Duty Constable positions is Rs. 21700-69100/.

The notification states that "8n exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949) and in supersession of the Central Reserve Police Force Group 'C' (General Duty/Technical/Tradesmen) Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2010 in so far as they relate to the post of (General Duty Cadre), Constable, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) in Group 'C' post, General Duty Cadre in the Central Reserve Police Force."
