The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced a revised schedule for NEET UG 2026 CAP Round 1 counselling for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. The changes have been made following the revision of the All India Quota counselling schedule by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Candidates whose names appear on the Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 Provisional Merit List, published on August 18, can raise objections or grievances until August 20, 2026, by 5 PM. The CET Cell has also reopened the registration window for eligible candidates who have not yet completed the state counselling registration process.
Candidates who have not registered for the Maharashtra NEET UG CAP counselling can now submit their applications between August 20 and August 21, 2026. Applicants must complete the online registration, fill in the required details, pay the applicable counselling fee and upload the necessary documents during this period.
Candidates should carefully verify all information before submitting the application and ensure that the required documents are uploaded within the prescribed deadline. The reopened registration window gives eligible candidates another opportunity to participate in the Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 counselling process.
The revised schedule for CAP Round 1 is as follows:
| Counselling Activity | Date |
| Grievance submission for provisional merit list | August 19-20, 2026, up to 5 PM |
| Online registration, application and fee payment | August 20-21, 2026 |
| Uploading and submission of documents | August 20-21, 2026 |
| Online document verification and revised provisional merit list | August 23, 2026 |
| Grievance submission for newly registered candidates | August 24, 2026, up to 5 PM |
| Final merit list and seat matrix | August 25, 2026 |
| Choice/preference filling | August 26-29, 2026, up to 5:30 PM |
| CAP Round 1 seat allotment | August 30, 2026 |
| Physical joining at allotted college | August 31-September 4, 2026, up to 5:30 PM |
Candidates should carefully follow the revised deadlines because missing a particular stage may affect their participation in the subsequent counselling process.
The provisional merit list for Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 was released on August 18, 2026. Candidates included in the list can raise objections or grievances within the specified period.
The grievance window for the existing provisional merit list will remain open until August 20 at 5 PM. Candidates who register during the reopened application window will get a separate opportunity to raise grievances on August 24 until 5 PM.
After verification and consideration of grievances, the authority will release the final merit list and seat matrix on August 25, 2026.
After the final merit list is published, eligible candidates will be able to enter their preferred colleges and courses during the choice-filling window.
The choice/preference filling process will be conducted from August 26 to August 29, 2026, until 5:30 PM.
Candidates should carefully arrange their preferences based on their NEET UG rank, eligibility, preferred course, college and available seats. Once the choice-filling deadline expires, candidates should follow the instructions issued by the Maharashtra CET Cell regarding further modifications or locking of preferences.
The Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled for August 30, 2026.
Candidates will be able to check their allotment status according to the schedule announced by the state counselling authority. Those allotted MBBS or BDS seats must follow the prescribed admission procedure and complete physical joining at the allotted college.
The physical joining window will remain open from August 31 to September 4, 2026, until 5:30 PM.
Candidates who have already registered should check their details in the provisional merit list and raise any eligible grievance before the deadline. Those who have not yet registered should use the reopened window from August 20 to 21 to complete the application process.
Applicants should keep their NEET UG documents ready, complete document uploading and verification within the specified timeline and regularly check the official Maharashtra CET Cell portal for updates.
The revised schedule makes it important for candidates to track each stage of CAP Round 1, from registration and merit-list grievances to preference filling, seat allotment and physical joining.
