Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced to conduct Open Book Exams for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses for all classes in June and July. The Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department declared this through a circular.
According to the circular issued, the UG and PG final year exams will be conducted in June and their results will be announced in July. The first year and second year of Under graduation and the second semester of Post-graduation are scheduled to be conducted in July 2021. The results for the same will be declared in August 2021. The Practical exams of these classes will be held after completion of the Open Book exams.
The Department of Higher Education announced regarding the Open Book Exam through its Twitter handle. The decision was taken due to the surge in Covid-19 cases across the state.

Earlier, the higher education minister Mohan Yadav had announced that the Open Book exams will be organised for final year students of UG and PG courses. "Due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the final year students of UG and PG will give Open Book exams, just like first and second-year exams. There will be no exams in college and the classes will continue in July as per normal routine," said Yadav in April.
