According to a recent statement by property consultant CBRE South Asia, the Lucknow region in North India is quickly becoming a significant industrial and logistical hub and is expected to generate over 70,000 direct employment possibilities over the next five years.
Over the past five years, the area has seen significant investments from major companies like Amazon, Mondelez, and Flipkart totaling about Rs 400 crore. A further investment of Rs 70 crore is envisaged for the construction of warehouses in the city.

In Lucknow, There Is A High Demand For Warehousing Space
In Lucknow, the demand for high-quality warehouse space has been steadily increasing over the past five years, reaching record highs in FY23. Total leasing of warehouse space is expected to reach 0.18 million square feet in 2022-23, up from 0.11 million square feet the year before. Warehouse facilities have already been established in the area by giants like Amazon, Mondelez, Flipkart, Tata Croma, Airtel, DHL, Whirlpool, Delhivery, Ecom Express, and Mahindra Logistics.
Opportunity For Jobs And Aligned Activities
Approximately 70,000 direct job opportunities as well as an additional 35,000 jobs in related industries like transportation and outside suppliers might be created in Lucknow's booming warehouse sector over the next five years, according to CBRE projections.

The research from CBRE highlights Lucknow's prospective future as a global industrial and logistical hub, offering both businesses and job seekers exciting options. As investments keep rolling in, Lucknow's position as a major player in the industrial landscape of North India is expected to grow over the next few years.
