LPU has been Ranked Top in the World among Harvard and Oxford Institutions

Lovely Professional University (LPU) has just been recognised ahead of the world's top Harvard and Oxford institutions in one of its global ranking lists by the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI)-2023. In six categories, LPU is ranked 12th, Ivy League university Harvard is placed 23rd, and Oxford University in the United Kingdom is ranked 37th for the 'Fourth Industrial Revolution category.

LPU is also ranked first in India among both government and private universities in three categories: Ethical Value, Crisis Management, and Fourth Industrial Revolution. LPU is also placed 48th, 46th, and 12th in the same three categories on global Top 50 lists. With a global band of 101-200, LPU is specifically included among different top Ivy League universities in the United States, including Harvard, Cornell, and Pennsylvania; the United Kingdom; Germany; Canada; Australia; China; Korea; and Sweden.

Being delighted with the university's excellent rating, Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal expresses gratitude to everyone at LPU for attaining this sought global name and recognition. It is achievable because of everyone's tireless work." Mittal added, "This ranking has enthralled us immensely while pulsing that day is soon to be seen when India will once again dominate the education world across the globe."

Using AI-based evaluation methodology, the 2023 WURI ranks 423 universities globally based on their innovation capabilities. The measure here is the number of unique and innovative programmes that contribute significantly to the advancement of research and education. The WURI assessed universities' true societal contributions based on six important concerns.

Therefore, WURI assessed universities based on the following criteria: i) industrial application; ii) value-creating startups and entrepreneurship; iii) social responsibility, ethics, and integrity; iv) student mobility and openness for exchange and collaboration; v) crisis management in the face of global and local crises; and, vi) progress during the Fourth Industrial Revolution through digital technology, artificial intelligence, and so on.
