List of Global leaders to participate in G20 Summit in New Delhi

On September 8, the G20 Summit will begin in New Delhi. Several important global concerns, including digital transformation, finance for climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and food security, will be discussed by leaders of the world's 20 largest economies.

Here is a list of world leaders who have confirmed their attendance as well as those who have opted out of the event in New Delhi.

1. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India

PM Modi is the main host of the global leaders coming to New Delhi to attend G20 Summit. The main motive of PM India is to push India as a global leaders in different sectors.

2. US President Joe Biden

He will be in India for the G20 Summit, and he will also engage in bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But according to the sources his India visit is now doubtful because his wife Jill Biden has been ill with COVID-19.

3. Chinese Premier Li Qiang

He will lead China's delegation, as President Xi Jinping will not attend in person. Since the first G20 summit was held in 2008, this will be the first time a Chinese president has missed one.

Xi Jinping virtually attended the conference in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

4. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

This will be the first official visit of Rishi Sunak to India after he became Prime Minister of Britain. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told his cabinet on Tuesday that he would only strike a trade agreement with India if it benefited the entire Britain, speaking to his top staff before departing for the G20 Summit. Well there is no information about his visit to his in-laws place, i.e. Narayanmurthy's house.

5. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

The Australian PM will participate, emphasizing Australia's commitment to the Indo-Pacific region. Ahead of the G20 Summit, Albanese made a point of emphasizing Australia's commitment to the Indo-Pacific region to advance "growth and prosperity, stability and respect for sovereignty, and lasting peace."

6. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Justin Trudeau will attend G20 after participating in the ASEAN summit. His Delhi visit will be crucial amid the pause in India-Canada trade.

7. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

The German premier has confirmed his attendance, emphasizing the importance of the G20 Summit.

8. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida

The Japanese PM will attend and may address Russia's actions in Ukraine. He will reach India after attending ASEAN in Indonesia.

9. South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeo

The South Korean President will be present in G20 and likely to focus on North Korea's missile provocations. Along with that he is expected to extend cooperation with the international community for the transition to clean energy.

10. French President Emmanuel Macron

The French President will attend and hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

11. Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman

Although an official confirmation is still pending, Mohammed Bin Salman is most likely to attend the G20 event in New Delhi.

12. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa

India's G20 summit enjoys the full support of Cyril Ramaphosa.

13. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

The G20 summit in New Delhi is expected to be attended by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh is one of the nations that India has asked to take part as an observer.

14. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan

For the G20 summit, Tayyip Erdogan will travel to India where he will speak about a number of topics, including climate change.

15. Argentina's President Alberto Fernandez

A confirmation of Alberto Fernandez's participation in the G20 summit in New Delhi has been made.

17. Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu

The Nigerian President has already arrived in India. The goal of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's attendance at the G20 conference is to encourage international investment in his nation and mobilize financial resources for the construction of infrastructure. He will be the part of Nigeria-India Presidential Roundtable and the Nigeria-India Business Conference both. Other than that many more sessions will witness his presence.

Russian President Vladimir Putin

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, will skip the G20 Summit this year. Putin is wanted for questioning by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of war crimes committed in Ukraine. He now runs the possibility of being detained while traveling abroad. Sergei Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, will represent the nation at the crucial summit in New Delhi.

European Union leaders Ursula Von Der Leyen and Charles Michel

Ursula Von Der Leyen, president of the European Commission, and Charles Michel, president of the European Council, have not yet confirmed their presence at the G20 summit.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the president of Mexico, is most likely skipping the G20 summit this year.
