Law students should only do internships during vacation time: BCI

Law students to take internship on vacation time

The Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi has made a new rule regarding internships for law students during their academic year.

The students who are currently pursuing law degree in universities in India will not be allowed to take up the internships during their academic session. They will be allowed to intern only during their vacation time.

The BCI is responsible for providing law education in India and forms the standards of legal education. To fulfill its responsibilities towards the cause of legal education, the council visits different universities for inspection or directs the State Bar Councils to visit and inspect universities.

The BCI has sent a circular to the colleges to allow students and advocates to take the internships only during their vacation time.
