Kerala's Education Minister V. Sivankutty recently announced that the state will participate in the PM SHRI Scheme, a central government initiative designed to transform selected schools into model institutions with world-class infrastructure and holistic learning environments.

The PM SHRI Scheme focuses on improving academic outcomes, digital literacy, sports, co-curricular activities, and environmental sustainability. The state government will soon identify schools eligible for the PM SHRI Scheme in consultation with the Ministry of Education. Once selected, these schools will receive financial aid, digital resources, and infrastructural support to meet the scheme's standards.

The program also emphasizes green initiatives, sustainability, and digital learning, aiming to create future-ready students who can thrive in a competitive world. Kerala's participation in PM SHRI reflects the government's commitment to comprehensive education reforms and strengthening the public education system.
