The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan has announced the schedule for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) SAY/Improvement exams, set to take place from May 28 to June 6. This opportunity is designed for students who participated in the Kerala Class 10 board exams this year and are looking to enhance their scores in certain subjects. The SAY or Improvement exams cater to those students who did not pass one or subjects in their initial attempt.

This year's SSLC examination saw a total of 4,25,563 students achieving success, marking an overall pass percentage of 99.69%. Despite a marginal decrease from the previous year's 99.7%, the results remain impressive. The highest pass percentage was reported in Kottayam revenue district at 99.92%, while Thiruvananthapuram recorded the lowest at 99.08%.
Key Dates for Kerala SSLC SAY Exams 2024
Starting from May 28, the exams will cover various subjects, including two sessions for the first language. The exams are scheduled in two sessions each day, morning and afternoon, ensuring a structured approach for the students. To be eligible for the SSLC SAY exams 2024, students who previously took the Kerala Class 10 board exams are required to complete an application form and submit the necessary fee.
Who is eligible to apply for the Kerala Plus 2 SAY Exam 2024?
Candidates who appeared for the Kerala class 12th board exams but did not qualify for higher studies can register for the exam in all subjects where they received a grade lower than D+.
Regular candidates who took the class 12th exams in March and obtained a D+ grade or higher in all subjects can participate in the improvement examination to enhance the grade of any one subject only. Private Compartmental Candidates are ineligible for the Improvement Examination.
Application Fees for Kerala Plus 2 SAY Exam 2024
The examination fee for the SAY (Save a Year) Exam is Rs. 150 per subject, while the fee for the Improvement Examination is Rs. 500 per subject. The deadline for submitting applications with a fine of Rs. 600 is May 17.
