Students upset over allotment of seats in first round:

It has been noted that, a lot of students are upset about over the allotment of seats in the first round.

A candidate, whose rank between 15,000 and 15,100 has entered 29 options for engineering seats. After the announcement of first round results, not a single seat was allotted to him.

"My 29th option was electronics and communication engineering at SJB Institute of Technology. I was shocked to see that my friend, whose rank is 14,800, was allotted a general merit seat in the same branch in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. How is this possible?" the candidate asked.

A KEA official said, "We hold mock allotment, so that candidates know which seat they were allotted based on their ranks. We had permitted them to modify their options before the real allotment and they did not. If KEA permits the students to change their options now, they may complain that lower-ranked candidates have already got the seats they should have bagged".

Important dates:

  • 2nd round online counselling from July 3 to 5.
  • Announcement of 2nd allotment of seats on July 6, 6 PM.
  • Confirmation of allotment, payment of fee to the allotted colleges from July 7 to 9.
