According to a notification released on the official website, the CBSE has decided to hold Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2016 on September 18 in Jammu. The CBSE CTET examination 2016 will be held for appointment of teachers from Class 1 to Class 8.
Separate test on any other date will not be conducted in any case. Therefore, the candidates of Srinagar (J&K) have the option to choose any one of the exam centres either in Srinagar (J&K) or in Jammu.
Schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT's of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi will accept the CTET Scores. The CTET exam conducted for candidates to be eligible for selection as a teacher for classes 1 to 8. CTET scores may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
CTET exam paper pattern
- CTET exam paper I and paper II will be held on September 18, 2016 in the morning and noon session respectively. Each examination is for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. It will be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
- Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. It will be held in the morning session from 9.30 am to 12 pm.
