Scientific Officer in Chemical Section: Must be a holder of a master's degree in chemistry/pharmacology/biochemistry/forensic science/equivalent qualification in chemical science with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Physical Section: Must be a holder of a master's degree in physics/forensic science/equivalent qualification in physical science with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Biology Section: Must be a holder of master's degree in botany/ zoology/biochemistry/microbiology/life sciences/forensic science or equivalent qualification in bio-science with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Questioned Documents Section: Must be a holder of master's degree in physics or equivalent qualification in physical science/chemistry or equivalent qualification in chemical science/forensic science/or equivalent/subjects with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Toxicology Section: Must be a holder of master's degree in chemistry/pharmacology/biochemistry/forensic science/equivalent qualification in chemical science with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Forensic Psychology Section: Must be a holder of MSc, degree in psychology or its equivalent qualification/subjects with specialisation in forensic psychology/clinical psychology with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Scientific Officer in Photography Section: Must be a diploma/degree holder in cinematography or photography or in their equivalent qualification subjects granted by an institution recognised by the government.
