The Karnataka government has not yet decided when to reopen schools and colleges in the state. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan has ended the speculation regarding Karnataka college reopening. He announced that the government priority is to provide the vaccine to all college students before reopening.

Meanwhile, Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr K Sudhakar has announced that the medical, dental, AYUSH and other healthcare colleges to reopen in the state immediately. Karnataka Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr K Sudhakar has ordered all the Medical, Dental, AYUSH and other allied healthcare educational institutions to reopen in the state.

Minister tweeted, "It has been decided to allow reopening of all Medical, Dental, AYUSH and other allied healthcare educational institutions in the state with immediate effect. Students, faculty members and non-teaching staff should have vaccinated to attend the college.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan tweeted, "The start date of graduate colleges is yet to be decided. Don't be confused about this. Our first priority is to provide the vaccine to all college students. Already 65% of government-funded colleges are vaccinated. Private colleges have also been instructed to vaccinate quickly. Let's protect everyone's safety."

Last month, the Karnataka government has started a vaccination drive for students in colleges and universities. The government wants to reopen higher educational institutions after the vaccine drive. It had asked all Vice Chancellors to provide vaccines to degree college students, who are above 18 years of age. The official sources suggest that 65% of students in government institutions have been vaccinated.

The government has not decided not to reopen schools and colleges in the interest of students, and that the next decision on reopening of the schools and PU colleges in the state will be taken in the last week of July.
