India Post, through the Karnataka Postal Circle, has invited online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling 2,637 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies to the post of Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) through direct recruitment. The registration-cum-application process towards the same started on August 5, 2019 and closes on September 4, 2019.

Age Criteria And Fees
Candidates interested in applying for the post of GDS through Karnataka Postal Circle Recruitment must have attained 18 years of age as on August 5, 2019 and not be more than 40 years, with relaxation in the upper age limit up to 5 years (SC/ST) and 3 years (OBC) respectively.
Candidates must pay a prescribed amount of Rs. 100 (UR/OBCEWS) as application processing through online (net-banking/debit/credit) mode only. SC/ST and PWD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Desirous candidates applying for the post of GDS through Karnataka Postal Circle Recruitment must have passed SSC/Class 10 or equivalent with English and Mathematics from a recognised Board/Institute. Candidates must have command over local dialect of the circle/region, and possess Basic Computer Training Course (sixty-days duration) certificate from a recognised Computer Training Institute established by law. Applicants must have knowledge of cycling or must be able to ride scooter or motorcycle. The selection of candidates as GDS through Karnataka Postal Circle Recruitment will be done based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their SSC/Class10 or equivalent.
