Karnataka Lockdown News: The Karnataka government has further extended the ongoing lockdown by a fortnight commencing from May 10, 2021 to May 24, 2021 till 6:00 am as per the revised guidelines to break the chain of COVID 19 transmission in the State.
With it, all schools, colleges, educational/coaching institutions, etc. in the state will remain closed. However, online/distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged.
Schools Break Up For Summer Vacation
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Instruction has revised the academic session for 2021-2022 with all schools in the state breaking up for summer vacation till June 14, and the new academic year commencing from June 15 in the wake of a spike in the COVID-19 cases across the state pulsated by the second wave.
SSCL Exams On Schedule
However, the summer vacation for high school teachers has been granted only up to May 31 with the SSCL Exams to be conducted as per the schedule from June 21 to July 5.
In leading to this, the high school teachers have been instructed to conduct revision classes from June 1 to June 14 to help Class 10 students prepare well for taking the SSLC exams.
