Karnataka Lockdown News: The Government of Karnataka on Friday extended the ongoing lockdown by a further two weeks commencing from May 24, 2021 up to 6:00 am of June 7, 2021 as per the revised guidelines to break the chain of COVID 19 transmission in the State and contain its spread.
With it, all schools, colleges, educational/coaching institutions, etc. in the state will remain closed. However, online/distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged.

SSCL, PUC Exams Not Cancelled
Clearing ambiguity about the conduct of SSLC and PUC exams in the state, Karnataka's Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar had said that no decision was taken on the cancellation of SSLC and PUC exams.
"We have not taken any decision on cancelling the Karnataka SSLC, PUC Exams 2021, which were postponed earlier in view of the rising COVID cases," PTI reported the Education Minister as saying.
Summer Vacation For Schools
Earlier, the Department of Public Instruction had revised the academic session for 2021-2022 with all schools in the state breaking up for summer vacation till June 14, and the new academic year commencing from June 15 in the wake of spike in the COVID-19 cases across the state pulsated by the second wave, and the students from Classes 1 to 9 and Class 11 given general promotion by the state government.
Karnataka COVID Update
Karnataka on Friday recorded 32,218 new COVID cases accounting for 353 deaths and 52,581 recoveries, and with a total of 5,14,238 active cases till date i.e. May 21, 2021.
