Karnataka CET 2014: Reservations for Hyderabad-Karnataka students

What is new in Karnataka CET 2014?

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore is conducting Common Entrance Test (CET-2014) for admission to first year undergraduate courses like Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy, Engineering/ Technology and Agriculture courses for the academic year 2014-15.

 

This year KEA provides some reservations for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region students.

According to the KEA official announcement;
The eligibility details for supernumerary Quota in all Engineering colleges for the year 2014-15 and the documents to be produced to become eligible under this quota will be published in the news papers and on the KEA website separately, for the information of the candidates, as per the directions of the Government.

The eligibility details for 371 (j) i.e., Hyderabad-Karnataka reservation for admission to professional colleges and the documents to be produced by the candidates to become eligible will also be published in the newspapers and on the KEA website for the information of the candidates, as per the directions of the Government.

B-Pharma and Pharma-D courses - from this year students taking up CET-2014 examination will also be eligible for admission to 1st year Degree to B-Pharma and Pharma-D and 2nd year B-Pharma (Lateral Entry) Courses. The details of the eligibility criteria and basis for generation of rank for these courses is as provided in the brochure.

Hyderabad-Karnataka reservation will also be considered for allotment of seats. The eligibility for Hyderabad-Karnataka reservation will be published before the commencement of the document verification process.

According to the government order, it has enhanced the annual income limit from Rs 3.50 lakhs to 4.5 lakhs per annum for claiming reservation benefit. The candidate and his / her father's - mother's whose gross annual income is below Rs 4.5 lakhs are eligible to claim benefit of reservation under 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B categories.
