The Karnataka Government has postponed the 2nd PUC board exams due to the COVID-19 surge in the state. The exam authority, the Department of Pre-University Education, has also announced that students of Class 11 will be promoted to the next grade without examinations. The Karnataka 2nd PUC theory exams scheduled to begin on May 24 and conclude on June 16.
Karnataka Minister for Primary & Secondary Education Suresh Kumar has announced that all teachers will be working from home due to the rise in Coronavirus cases. The revised exam dates will be announced when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of DPUE for the latest updates.
Karnataka PUC Practical Exams 2021 Postponed, New Dates Soon
Education Minister Suresh Kumar has suggested students continue with their exam preparations during travel restrictions. Students of Class 11 will be promoted to the higher class, i.e., Class 12 (2nd PUC) for the academic year 2021-22. He also announced that the schools will be conducting bridge courses at the beginning of the academic year that will help students to build their basics.
Earlier, the Department has postponed the Karnataka PUC practical exams 2021 scheduled between April 28 and May 18. The revised Karnataka practical exam dates will be announced soon on the official website. The government has also promoted students from Class 1 to 9 without any physical examinations in the schools. It has asked the schools to complete the evaluation process and release the result. However, there is no official announcement yet regarding the SSLC (Class 10) board exams scheduled between June 21 and July 5, 2021.
The government has closed all the schools and declared summer holidays from May 1 to June 14 for Classes 1 to 8. The summer vacation for students promoted to Classes 9 and 10 will be from May 1 to July 14.
Karnataka reported the 44,438 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. Bengaluru Urban alone reported over 22,000 cases.
