JNTU, Kakinada to conduct EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh

The controversy about conducting the EAMCET entrance exam in Andhra Pradesh comes to an end.

The Andhra Pradesh state government has decided to hold separate EAMCET exam for their state students.

The decision was taken at the AP Cabinet meeting held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

AP, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said, "We will conduct our own EAMCET. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada will be conducting the examination."

Even, the dates for the other CETs like ICET, ECET, EdCET and PGECET would be announced later.

As per the reports,m a meeting will be held with the officials of the Andhra Pradesjh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) to take decision on remaining CETs.

However, Telangana government had already announced that EAMCET exam would be held on May 14, 2015 and announced dates for other CETs.

The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is the qualifying entrance examination for admission to first year professional courses in engineering, medical and agriculture courses in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

According to the latest announcement, the students of both the states have to appear for the both the exam in order to get seats in both the states. [JNTU, Hyderabad to disaffiliate 143 engineering colleges in Telangana]

On December 29, 2014, AP government has announced that EAMCET in AP would be held on May 10, 2015. But, the date of conducting the EAMCET exam has not yet finalised.
