Jindal varsity students won moot court competition

New Delhi: A team of students from OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has won the '7th International Arbitration Moot Court Competition' hosted by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru.

The competition witnessed participation of several teams from India, including the National Law Schools and Delhi University's Campus Law Centre, and other countries to win the moot competition.

According to a release issued by JGU, students of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Samhith Malladi, Sanjika Dang, Nimrah Alvi and Vaidehi Misra, have won the title.

The competition was held between April 18-20. It said this year's competition was held in association with the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Elated by the victory of students of JGLS, Professor C Raj Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of JGU and Dean of Jindal Global Law School said, it was an impressive achievement for the students of the varsity and the faculty members.

"Moot court competitions are just one aspect of our efforts to raise the quality of legal education with a view to empower students to become responsible lawyers and enlightened citizens," he said.

In addition to the moot victory, JGLS team member Samhith Malladi also bagged the 'Best Speaker of the Tournament Award'.
