JIMS Kalkaji, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), successfully organised a National Seminar on "India @2047: Building Global Competitiveness through Innovation and Trade Integration" on 21st November 2025.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Sahai (DG & CEO, FIEO) and graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Rohit Mehtani (Head - MDP & Centre for International Negotiation, IIFT), Captain Sarabjit Butalia, Dr. Anuj Verma, (Director, JIMS Kalkaji), and Heads of Departments Dr. Navneet Gera and CA Prof. Dr. Anupama Sharma, along with faculty members.

Dr. Navneet Gera apprised the audience of India's untapped innovation potential, the need to bridge unrealized export opportunities, and the importance of reducing import dependency, particularly in electrical machinery sourced from China. Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Ajay Sahai emphasized India's promising economic trajectory and projected a $35 trillion GDP by 2047. He underscored the importance of unlocking the $210 billion export potential through strategic interventions and shed light on emerging plug-and-play industrial ecosystems, including the development of eight mega industrial parks across the country. He further elaborated on the role of disruptive technologies, job creation, and women's empowerment within the Viksit Bharat vision.

The Technical Session showcased an eminent panel of speakers: Mr. Rajesh Setia, Founder, CEO & Director, TESTPAN India Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Vanish Ahluwalia, Group Vice President, Seahorse Ship Agencies Pvt. Ltd. & Lt. Col. Shishir Hirdekar (Retd.), Strategic Project and Supply Chain Leader. The speakers provided deep insights into the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Real Intelligence (RI), the need for India's stronger integration into global value chains, and the critical role of exports as a catalyst for sustained economic growth.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry leaders, academicians, and PGDM/PGDM-IB students, marking a significant step toward fostering dialogue on India's long-term growth trajectory. The seminar was successfully coordinated by Dr. Navneet Gera, Ms. Shilpi Yadav (Assistant Professor), and Ms. Jasmeet Kaur (Assistant Professor), reflecting JIMS Kalkaji's commitment to promoting industry-academia partnerships and contributing to India's vision of becoming a global economic powerhouse by 2047.
