The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) is set to close the registration process for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2024 today. Interested candidates can still apply through the official website, jactetportal.com. Originally, the deadline was August 22, but it has been extended to August 27, giving applicants additional time to complete their registrations.

How to Register for JTET 2024?
To register, candidates should visit jactetportal.com and navigate to the "Recent Announcements" section. There, they can find the link to the Jharkhand TET Exam 2024 portal. After selecting "Register," candidates will need to complete the payment process and submit their forms. It's essential to save a copy of the completed form for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria
The official notification, available in Hindi, outlines that the age criteria for JTET will be governed by Rule 17 of Notification No. 783, dated June 15, 2024, under the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024. Candidates must ensure they meet these age requirements before applying, as non-compliance will result in the cancellation of their application.
Exam Pattern
The JTET is divided into two levels: Primary School Level (classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary School Level (classes 6 to 8). Candidates can choose to appear for one or both levels. Each level features a consolidated question paper with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Additionally, visually impaired candidates will receive an extra 30 minutes to complete the exam.
Applicants are advised to fill out their forms with great care, as no corrections can be made after submission or once the results are published.
Important Guidelines
The exam is designed to evaluate teaching abilities across different school levels. For those applying to teach at the Primary School Level (Level 1), the test covers classes 1 to 5, while for the Upper Primary School Level (Level 2), it covers classes 6 to 8.
The official guidelines emphasize the importance of confirming eligibility before applying. The notification states: "The minimum and maximum age for appearing in the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test will be determined in light of Rule 17 of Notification No. 783, dated June 15, 2024 (Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024). Therefore, candidates must ensure they are eligible before applying. Otherwise, they will be responsible, and their candidature will be considered canceled."
