JEST Exam Dates 2023 Out: The Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) conducts the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST 2023). As per the latest update, the JEST-2023 examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

The JEST or Joint Entrance Screening Test is conducted for admission to a Ph.D. / Integrated Ph.D. Program in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience Computational Biology in the participating institute.

Ph.D. Program

Physics: M.Sc. in Physics (all participating Institutes). Additionally, some institutes accept B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. in disciplines of Applied Physics and Mathematics, as prescribed.

Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc: M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Science and related disciplines, and should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science.Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC: M.Sc (Physics/ Mathematics), B.E/ B.Tech/ M.C.A in Computer Science

Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc: M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. / MCA in any engineering or science discipline, with good mathematical skills and a strong interest in biological problems.

Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech - Ph.D. Program (Physics): BSc in Physics (Major/Hons), or in Physics and Mathematics (Physics cannot be an allied/subsidiary/minor subject) will be considered at SNBNCBS.

Integrated Ph.D. Program in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc: B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.C.A. in Computer Science or related disciplines and should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science.

Integrated M.Tech - Ph.D. Program at IIA: M.Sc. (Physics / Applied Physics) / Post-B.Sc. (Hons) in Optics and Optoelectronics / Radio Physics and Electronics.

Integrated Ph.D. Program at IISER Kolkata and IISER. Thiruvananthapuram: B. Sc. (Physics) or B.E. / B. Tech. in any discipline.

M. Sc. Programme at HRI: B.Sc. (Physics) or B.E./B.Tech. degree in any discipline.

How to Apply for JEST 2023?

3 Register yourself and then log in with the asked credentials.

4 Fill out the complete application form and upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

JEST Application Fees

A non-refundable JEST application fee of Rs.800 (Rs.400 for SC/ST Male applicants and Non-SC/ST Female applicants) is required to be paid online along with the application. The JEST Application Fee is waived for female candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

The payment will be accepted using SBI Epay online payment service using debit card/credit card/Net-banking/UPI only. Payment by any other mode will not be accepted. The application fee once paid will not be refunded.
