Expected Date for JEE Mains 2026 Scorecard Release

While the official result date has not yet been formally announced by NTA, past JEE Mains cycles provide a reliable indication of the timeline:

  1. For the January 2026 session, the JEE Mains result and scorecard are expected to be released within 4-6 weeks after the exam date.

  2. If the exam was held in mid-January, this places the likely declaration of scorecards in late February to early March 2026.

  3. For the April 2026 session, results are usually released 3-4 weeks after the exam window concludes; meaning likely in May 2026.

NTA typically uploads the scorecards on its official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in, where candidates can download their individual results using their application number and date of birth.

What the JEE Mains 2026 Scorecard Shows

A typical JEE Mains scorecard includes:

  • Candidate's name and application number
  • Parent's name
  • State code of eligibility
  • Category
  • Subject-wise NTA scores (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
  • Total NTA score
  • Percentile and All India Rank (AIR)
  • Qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2026

The Percentile score indicates how a candidate performed relative to others who appeared in the same session.

Qualifying for JEE Advanced 2026

A key purpose of the JEE Mains exam is to determine eligibility for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination, which is the entry route to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Candidates must secure a rank within the cutoff in JEE Mains to qualify for JEE Advanced.

The cutoff varies by category each year.

The JEE Advanced 2026 registration will open shortly after the JEE Mains result announcement.

What's Next After the Scorecard Release

Once scorecards are announced and ranks are published:

1. JEE Advanced Registration: Eligible candidates can register for the Advanced exam as per the schedule issued by the exam authority.

2. Admission Counselling (JoSAA): For seats in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), counselling is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based on JEE Mains ranks.

3. Choice Filling for Courses: Candidates must fill their preferred institutes and branches during the counselling window.

4. Seat Allocation and Reporting: Based on ranks and preferences, seat allotments are announced and candidates must report as per the schedule.

Preparing While Waiting for Results

While awaiting the scorecards, candidates can:

  • Finalise preferred branches of engineering
  • Research college options and cutoff trends
  • Prepare for JEE Advanced (if eligible)
  • Plan for counselling and documentation
