JEE Main 2023 Exam Dates OUT: Know Major Changes Introduced By NTA

The Joint Entrance Examination Main Exam Dates For Academic Year 2023 were revealed today by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In addition, the NTA has made the JEE Main 2023 application form available online. Candidates who want to take the JEE Main test can register online at the official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2023 Exam Dates OUT

According to the published exam calendar, JEE Main 2023 will be held in two sessions. JEE Main 2023 Session 1 will start in January 2023, while Session 2 begins in April 2023. The JEE Main 2023 1st session will take place from January 24 to January 31, 2023. The second session, on the other hand, will take place from April 6 to 12, 2023.

JEE Main Exam Dates 2023

The NTA has made significant adjustments to the JEE Mains 2023 exam. According to the information pamphlet, the qualifying condition of 75% in the Class 12 test to appear for the JEE Main 2023 exam has been applied again. Last year, the testing agency abolished the JEE Main 75% requirement as a one-time measure owing to academic loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

JEE Main 2023 session 1 will be held from 24 to January 31, 2023, and session 2 will be conducted from April 6 to 12, 2023. Since things are returning to normal, officials have chosen to reintroduce the eligibility standards that were in place before the pandemic. Furthermore, the NTA has announced significant revisions to the engineering entrance exam.

Major Changes Introduced By NTA In JEE Exam

75% Eligibility Criteria

The NTA has reinstated the 75% eligibility requirement. Aspirants seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, BE, BTech, BArch, BPlanning courses and CFTIs participating in the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will be based on All India Rank, subject to a minimum of 75% in the Class 12th exams (through any recognised board). SC and ST applicants must obtain at least 65% in their Class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination.

JEE Main 2023 registration fee increased

The NTA has also hiked the JEE Main 2023 registration fees for male applicants from Rs 650 to Rs 1,000, while female candidates now need to pay Rs 800. Previously, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender applicants had to pay Rs 325, but now they must pay Rs 500 to take the BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning exams.

The application fee for JEE Main 2023 for applicants outside India has also been raised. Male candidates must pay Rs 5,000 to take the exam, while female candidates must pay Rs 4,000. Previously, the fee for applicants from outside India was Rs 3,000 for male candidates and Rs 1,500 for female candidates.

Number of cities decreased

The number of cities hosting JEE Main 2023 has decreased since last year. The exam will be held in 399 locations, down from 514 the previous year. On the other hand, the number of exam cities outside of the United States has climbed to 24 from 13 last year.

One session at a time

Candidates who want to take the JEE Mains 2023 exam can only apply for one session at a time. Only Session 1 will be visible in the first session of JEE (Main) - 2023, and candidates can choose that. Session 2 will be visible at the next session, and candidates can choose it.

Compulsory details of Parents

According to the new norms, aspirants taking the JEE Main 2023 must fill up their parents' or guardians' information. Previously, this field was not required.
