JEE Main 2014 offline examination Paper 1 analysis

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi had conducted the JEE Main 2014 offline examination on 06th April at 150 centres across the country.

JEE Main offline examination paper 1 contained 90 questions divided into three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total marks for the question paper was 360 with 4 marks for each correct answer and negative marking of 1 mark for an incorrect response.

After the exam, Yash Raj Rai, who is aspiring for an engineering seat, said: "The paper today was very easy and I am hoping for a 120+ rank."

Another candidate Bobby Singh told that he found the Mathematics paper tough but others said it was easy.

Mohit Sharma said: "Chemistry and Physics were easy but Mathematics was difficult."

Sonal said, "I have been preparing for the examination from the past 6 months. I felt that paper 1 was easy and am looking forward to paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2014 examination".

Karthik, "My dream is to get into the IITs. JEE Main 2014 paper 1 was easy. I'm expecting a 1000+ ranking".

"The question paper was good for me. I attempted almost 80 percent of the questions," said Arpita, a CBSE board student.

"The Physics and Math paper was comparatively difficult. I could only attempt 60 per cent in the two sections," said Neeraj.

Mohan Rathod from Navi Mumbai said, "Physics was toughest among the three sections. Among the three sections, Chemistry had majority of its questions from class 11 syllabus. Math was comparatively the easiest section."

A total of 13.57 lakh candidates have registered for the JEE Main 2014 entrance examination. Out of which, more than 7 lakh candidates opted for offline examination and 5 lakh candidates opted for online examination.

JEE Main 2014 online examination would be held on 09th, 11th, 12th and 19th April 2014.

The examination was held in two shifts. The first shift was from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and was conducted for B.Tech aspirants. The students who wanted to take admission in B.Arch and B.Planning had appeared in the second shift, which was held between 2 PM and 5 PM.
