Registration Schedule

The online registration process for JEE Advanced 2026 will begin in April 2026. Only candidates who qualify JEE Main 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria will be allowed to register. The registration process will be conducted entirely online through the official JEE Advanced website. Candidates will be required to fill in personal details, academic information, choose exam centres, upload documents, and pay the application fee within the stipulated timeline.

Eligibility Criteria

To appear for JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must:

  • Be among the top qualifiers of JEE Main 2026, as per the cutoff announced by NTA
  • Have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • Meet the age limit criteria, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories
  • Not have attempted JEE Advanced more than the permitted number of times

Candidates are advised to carefully read the official information brochure once released, as eligibility rules are strictly enforced.

Exam Pattern and Structure

JEE Advanced is known for its dynamic exam pattern, which may change slightly each year. Typically, the papers include:

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Numerical value-based questions
  • Match-the-following or comprehension-type questions

There is often negative marking, and the marking scheme may vary across sections. This makes thorough preparation and accuracy extremely important.

Admit Card and Result

The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card is expected to be released in May 2026, a few days before the examination. Candidates must download and print the admit card, as it is mandatory for entry into the exam centre. The result is likely to be announced in June 2026, followed by the declaration of All India Ranks (AIR).

Counselling and Admissions

After the result declaration, qualified candidates will participate in JoSAA counselling 2026, which facilitates seat allocation across IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Admission to IITs is granted purely on the basis of JEE Advanced rank, category, and seat availability.

Key Advice for Aspirants

With the exam scheduled for May 2026, aspirants should now focus on:

  • Strengthening fundamentals of PCM subjects
  • Practising previous years' JEE Advanced question papers
  • Taking regular mock tests to improve speed and accuracy

JEE Advanced 2026 is highly competitive, but with consistent preparation and a clear strategy, candidates can secure admission to their dream IIT.
