The organising institute, IIT Kharagpur, has decided to postpone the JEE Advanced 2021 exam due to the worsening COVID-19 situation across the country. It has postponed Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 scheduled on July 3 till further notice. Candidates who are aspiring for the JEE Advanced 2021 exam are advised to keep visiting the official webpage for updated information.
JEE Advanced 2021 Postponed
The official website reads, "Considering the prevailing pandemic situation due to COVID-19, JEE (Advanced) 2021 which was scheduled to be held on July 03, 2021 (Saturday) stands postponed. The revised date of examination will be announced at an appropriate time."
As per the sources, around 2.5 lakh candidates who clear the JEE Main exam will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam. The written exam comprises two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The JEE Advanced exam is conducted to shortlist the candidates for admission to the Bachelor's, Integrated Master's, and Dual Degree courses in 23 IITs spread across the country.
Students should also secure at least 75% marks in Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other language. However, the 75% eligibility criteria have been relaxed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
