JEE Advanced 2021: The Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal today announced that the JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted on July 3 and added that the criteria of securing 75 per cent in board exams for obtaining admissions to the IITs has been relaxed.
Following the declaration of Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main 2021 Exam dates and structural changes added to it, the Education Minister on Tuesday had said that he will announcing the exam dates for JEE Advanced 2021 on January 7 (Thursday) at 6:00 pm.
"My dear students, I will announce the eligibility criteria for admission in #IITs & the date of #JEE Advanced on 7th Jan at 6 PM. Stay tuned," Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal had tweeted.
On tweaking the eligibility criteria for admissions to IITs, for which qualifying JEE Advanced 2021 is a gateway, Dr. Pokhriyal during a live session said, "Since we have not been able to completely come out of the pandemic, we have decided to relax the eligibility criteria of 75 percent in board exams for admissions to IITs giving more flexibility to students."

The JEE Advanced 2021 Exam will be organized by IIT Kharagpur on July 3, 2021 the Minister added.
Usually, the first set of 2.5 lakh students passing the JEE Main exam will be eligible to take up the JEE Advanced which now will be conducted on July 03, 2021 at IIT Kharagpur.
Post-JEE Advance, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) under Ministry of Education, earlier the MHRD, will initiate the counseling process for candidates qualifying the JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021 for allocation of seats into 100 plus (107) premier institutions throughout the country including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 28 other government funded technical institutes (Other-GFTIs) offering admissions to all the academic programs through a single platform.
