JEE Adv 2015: About 26K Qualify, Rise In Number Of Girls Qualifying

26,456 students qualify the JEE Advanced examination 2015. IIT Bombay zone recorded the best performance, this year in JEE (Advanced).

More than 50% students of the IIT Bombay zone qualified for the IIT seats as compared to last year.

The IIT Madras zone retains the 2nd position, while IIT-Delhi slipped to the third.

34 students from the IIT Delhi zone made it to the top 100 rank, but only 1 made it to the top 10. IIT Madras zone has 5 students in the top 10.

Out of the 1.17 lakh students who took up examination, only 26,456 qualified for the IIT seats.

This year, there is also a marginal rise in the number of girl students qualifying the JEE (advanced). Out of the total students qualified, 11% are girls.

Of the 3,049 girls who passed for JEE (Main) this year, Indore's Krati Tiwari with AIR 47, is the topper. The number of girls qualifying in the exam saw a marginal rise from the previous year's 3,009. OBC topper Majji Sandeep Kumar from Vizianagaram also got an AIR of 10. Chinmaya Sahoo from Pune is the topper in the OBC and disabled category.
