Japan Student Services Organization to conduct Education Fair

Japan Education Fair at The Lalit New Delhi

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is all set to conduct Japan Education Fair on August 4, 2014 at The Lalit New Delhi.

The event is expected to be a major draw in the wake of the new Government's thrust given to the importance of trade between the two countries.

The event is co-organised by Ritsumeikan India Office, which is supported by Embassy of Japan. The event is brought about in association with The Japan Foundation, MOSAI (Mombusho Scholars Association of India) & The University of Tokyo.

The event intends to give exposure to those Indian students aspiring to study in leading universities of Japan in English curriculum with excellent scholarships and career prospects.

The event also intends to show a glimpse of the Japanese culture like Robot, Origami, Tea ceremony, Japanese dolls, flower arrangements and other related videos.

Commenting on the start of the fair, JASSO said, "It's exciting to reach out to the Indian contingent of students and present to them a choice of world class Japanese institutions to study from. We sincerely hope that this fair contributes to the further deepening of the friendship and mutual understanding between our two nations."

India office representative, Ritsumeikan, added, "Delhi has emerged, amongst all Indian cities, as the nerve centre of education institutes from across the country. Last year, the response was terrific and this year we hope to present to the Indian students a wider range of subjects encouraging more students to visit the fair."

The event will introduce English-based degree programmes at the Japanese universities for the students in India. The event also provides guidance and first hand counselling to the students who aspire to explore Japan for higher education. The faculty members and the staff from the leading universities of Japan will do the counselling with respect to finding out desired course, application procedures, scholarship, campus life, career supports and food, etc.

Some of the distinguished universities that are taking part in the fair include - Hokkaido University, Keio University, Kyushu University, Osaka University, Ritsumeikan University, Shizuoka University, Tohoku University, Waseda University, University of Tokyo and Shinjuku Heiwa Japanese School.

The fair will constitute counselling booths that will be set up by the participating universities and Japanese language institute. Also, the Embassy of Japan will take part in the event to provide information on the Japanese Government Scholarships and other related matters.

For those aspiring to pursue higher education overseas, the Japan Education Fair 2014 presents a good opportunity. The entry to the fair is free and it is open for all the school as well as college students, parents, teachers, working professionals, etc.
