Jadavpur is the best Indian University as per a recent Stanford Ranking

Jadavpur University has topped the list of Indian Universities in a recent 'Top Global Scientists with Research Publications List" prepared by the renowned Stanford University of the USA.

42 teachers of Jadavpur University have found a place on the list, which is more than any other Indian University. The other institutions from India to find a mention in the list are the IISC Bengaluru along with six older IITs.

In total, only 3,796 scientist-researchers from around the world have figured in the list that comprises the top 2 per cent of scientists worldwide in terms of their research publications.

Jadavpur University is the best-ranked university in terms of the number of research papers published and their citations, along with the H-index. The H-index is an author-level metric that measures the productivity and citation impact of the publications.

How the List was Prepared

• Only research papers published up to 2021 end have been taken into account to compile this data.
• And the minimum number of published papers must be five for any scientist to even be considered for this honour.
• Scientists are classified into 22 fields and 176 sub-fields.
• They are ranked based on the percentile achieved through their work in a given field and subfield.
