The Jharkhand Government has decided to cancel the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2021 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Jharkhand Cheif Minister Hemant Soren has taken the decision after reviewing the pandemic. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will soon release the alternative assessment scheme on its official portal. Students are advised to keep visiting the official portal for the latest information.

CM Hemant Soren tweeted, "Today, in view of the circumstances arising out of COVID-19 and the demand of students and parents, I have decided to cancel the 10th and 12th examinations to be conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) in this session."

Jharkhand JAC Board Exams 2021 Cancelled
Earlier, the JAC has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled between May 4 to 21 amid the second wave of Coronavirus. It has also released the admit cards for the board exams in the last week of March.
In May, the government has decided to promote the students of Classes 9 to 11 to the next grade without exams. It has provided marks based on the internal assessment for the academic year 2020-2021. This move will benefit students to start the new academic year and go ahead with the online classes as schools and educational institutes are likely to be closed for the coming months.

Earlier, the Union Government has decided to cancel CBSE Class 10 board exams due to the COVID-19 second wave. On June 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chaired a high-level meeting and decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021. Students will be promoted based on the internal assessment. Several state board and CISCE has followed the decision and released the alternative assessment scheme.
