The pre-placement offers (PPOs) in top B-schools across India have received an upward swing this year. As a result, a vast improvement has been observed in the economy and job market.
The firms which have offered jobs at these B-schools are McKinsey & Co, PepsiCo, the Boston Consulting Group, AT Kearney, HUL, Wipro, Philips India and Vodafone, among others.
B-schools such as, Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), XLRI Jamshedpur, XIM Bhubaneswar, MDI Gurgaon, NMIMS Mumbai and many more have received pre-plecement offers from various companies.
All these B-schools have witnessed an increase of about 20% - 100% in PPOs, when compared to last year.
XLRI Jamshedpur has received 25 PPOs and 15 pre-placement interviews (PPIs), which is 38% increase. XIM Bhubaneswar has received more than 20% PPOs in comparison with last year.
MDI Gurgaon has received 16 PPOs, which is double the last year's offer.
NMIMS, Mumbai has received 15 PPOs and an increase of 10% to 15% in salary packages this year.
At IIM Calcutta, 75 students of the 2014 batch have already bagged offers, which shows a 34% increase compared with 2013. This year IIM-C has received 58 PPOs and 20 PPIs.
IIM Kozhikode has bagged 24 PPOs and at IIM Raipur, students have bagged 12 PPOs and 3 PPIs.
An another institute, IIM Lucknow, has bagged 65 PPOs. The flow of PPOs and PPIs at IIM Shillong has seen a rise as well, according to institute officials.
