After the two months of vacation, now Indian students are flying back to Ukraine to safer universities to continue their studies.
The students who are pursuing medicine and other professional courses in eastern Ukraine are planning to move to safer universities in their to complete their studies.
Deputy chief of mission in the Indian embassy in Ukraine Yojna Patel told TOI, "The situation is relatively better. Students currently enrolled in the Universities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions are moving to western part of Ukraine where the situation is stable. The embassy is in constant touch with the Ukranian government to ensure our students' welfare".
She added that students could approach the Ukraine education ministry regarding their transfer. More than 800 south Indian students are doing their Medicine in Luhansk region alone. The embassy had advised students against returning to their institutions in the two regions in view of the ongoing pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine.
Students from Tamil Nadu have booked tickets for Ukraine to continue their studies.
