Indian students account second largest in US

According to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, India stands second in the count of largest number of international students in USA, only after China with a little over 290,000 students.

Currently, around 113,800 Indian students are enrolled in various US educational institutions and universities, accounting for the second largest number of international students in America, as per the recent official report. Furthermore, it has been reported that there was 8% increase in enrolment of Indian students registrations since January 2014, followed by South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

As per reports from Student and Exchage Visitor Information System (SEVIS), Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) courses have attracted more than three-fourth of Indian students, out of the overall 85 percent of international students originating from Asia. This gives India, the highest number of STEM student group in the US, with 78 percent enrolled in STEM categories.
