The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C), a premier management institution, has proudly announced the successful completion of its placement season for the flagship MBA programme. Achieving a remarkable milestone, the institute reported 100 per cent placement for its students this year. The placement process witnessed the participation of 464 students who garnered a total of 529 offers from 194 esteemed companies.
Top Sectors and Recruiters
The consulting sector once again led as the top recruiter with 167 students, accounting for 31.6 per cent of the offers. Accenture Strategy stood out as the leading recruiter within this sector, accompanied by other prominent firms such as EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Vector Consulting, and Arthur D. Little, alongside giants like McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Kearney, and others.

In the financial arena, a significant number of students, 114 (21.5 per cent), entered prestigious finance firms. These roles spanned across various domains including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Markets, Asset, and Wealth Management. Top financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas, and others offered positions to the graduates.
Additionally, the technology sector marked its presence by extending offers to 88 students (16.6 per cent). Esteemed companies like Microsoft, Navi, Arcesium, Media.Net, Uber, Angel One, HCL, Newgen, Zomato, Javis, and NPCI were among the recruiters. The Marketing and General Management sector was not far behind, with companies like ITC, Loreal, Proctor & Gamble, Dabur, Tata Administrative Services, Vedanta, Adani, Hinduja, Aditya Birla Group, Essar Group, JSW, and Reliance recruiting 130 students (24.6 per cent).
Emerging Trends and New Opportunities
A noteworthy trend this year was the emergence of roles in the 'Founder's Office’. Esteemed firms including OLA, IndusInd Bank, Newme, ParkStreet, PoshN, Kofluence, and others offered these distinctive roles. The placement season also saw the entry of many first-time recruiters such as Jio Financial Services, Hero Fincorp, Yubi, Sobha Realty, Sirius AI, Husk Power Systems, and DMI Finance. Additionally, there was a noticeable increase in the interest towards the pre-placement offer route, with several global firms participating as first-time recruiters.
