Rise in Indian visa applicants to Netherlands

There has been a noted increase in the number of Indians applying for visas to travel to Netherlands. Majority of the Indians' request for visas stating reasons of business travel, tourism and student-exchange programmes.

This increase in applications has led to opening a new centre for Visa Facilitation Services for the Netherlands at Ahmedabad, which has already received more than 40 applications.

According to the Netherlands' ambassador to India, Alphonsus Stoelinga, India and the Netherlands are very important economic partners for each other with India's exports to Netherlands being around 10 billion euros a year. Indian students are also exploring possibilities of greater collaborations with Dutch Institutions.
