Sheikh Khaled, who also serves as the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, witnessed the signing of several key agreements between IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi and prominent universities in Abu Dhabi. These partnerships aim to foster joint research initiatives, academic programs, and student and faculty exchanges, reinforcing the UAE's position as a global hub for education and innovation.

Strategic Partnerships:

The collaborations involve leading institutions such as Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Zayed University. These universities will collaborate on various initiatives designed to enhance educational and research opportunities across multiple disciplines.
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, for example, will partner with IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi on joint research projects, postgraduate student exchanges, and scientific seminars. Meanwhile, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will offer seed project grants, host internships, and participate in collaborative research efforts with the new IIT campus.

Significance of the Inauguration:

Sheikh Khaled lauded the opening of IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi as a landmark achievement in Abu Dhabi's vision to become a global center for research and development. During his visit, he toured the campus and was briefed on its wide range of academic programs, including those in energy, engineering, and computer science.
IIT Delhi, one of India's 23 IITs, is renowned for producing world-class engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Often likened to MIT and Harvard of India, IIT Delhi is celebrated for its excellence in education and research, making the establishment of its first international campus a significant milestone.

Foundation Agreement:

The foundation of IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi was formalized through an agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), IIT Delhi, and India's Ministry of Education. This pivotal agreement, witnessed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2023, underscores the deepening educational collaboration between the two nations.
Sheikh Khaled emphasized that these strategic partnerships would pave the way for joint research projects and academic exchanges, benefiting both students and faculty. The collaboration is expected to elevate educational standards and drive innovation across various fields.

The inauguration of IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi marks a new chapter in the educational collaboration between India and the UAE, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing knowledge exchange and developing cutting-edge research capabilities.
