IIT Bombay to launch online courses on Republic Day

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has decided to launch online courses website on Republic Day, January 26, 2015..

The IIT Bombay will be first Indian institute to launch IITBombayX, a platform for interactive Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

The professors of IIT Bombay will be available for learners across the country in two languages.

Any learners from Age group 15 to 75 years, can register for courses of their interest and get an 'honour' certificate after its completion. The professors from the other prominent institutes would also be available on this platform.

The online course would be available on website https://www.iitbombayx.in.

The institute had collaborated with edX, one of the leading organizations to offer MOOCs globally, in May 2013.

The server is equipped to handle 4 to 5 lakh learners at a time. Besides videos, readings, and problem sets, IITBombayX will also provide interactive forums like discussions, quizzes & instant feedback.
