The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is set to conduct the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024 on June 9. This computer-based exam will take place from 9 am to 12 pm.

Exam Structure and Scoring
The IAT 2024 scores will be utilized for admissions to the five-year BS-MS (dual degree) and four-year BS degree programs at IISER Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati. The test will comprise 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), equally distributed among biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.
- Scoring: Each correct answer will earn four marks, while each incorrect answer will incur a penalty of one mark.
- Total Score: The exam will be scored out of a total of 240 marks.
- Duration: The exam duration is three hours.
Guidelines for Candidates
Candidates must adhere to the following guidelines on the day of the exam:
Essential Items:
- Hall Ticket: Printed on A4 size paper from a laser printer with a clear photograph and signature.
- Photo ID: Must include the candidate's photograph and signature. Acceptable IDs include Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, passports, PAN cards, driving licenses, photo-pasted nationalized bank passbooks, or 10th/12th mark sheets.
- Self-Declaration Form: Provided with the hall ticket and must be filled out.
- Other Items: A transparent water bottle and a ball pen.
Prohibited Items:
- Jewelry and metallic items.
- Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatches.
- Reporting Time: Candidates must report to the exam center by 7 am. Entry will close at 8:30 am. PwD candidates will be given priority entry.
- Exam Center Visit: It is advised that candidates visit the exam center a day before the exam to avoid any last-minute hassles.
Materials Provided and Collection
- In the Exam Hall:
Candidates will be provided with rough pads or sheets.
An online non-programmable scientific calculator will be available and must be returned after the exam.
- Document Collection:
The original hall ticket and a photocopy of the photo ID will be collected in the exam hall. Candidates should keep an additional copy of these documents for their records.
Additional Instructions
- Friends and relatives will not be allowed inside the exam hall.
- Candidates must arrange their own travel and stay.
- Requests to change the exam center will not be entertained.
- Only some candidates will be awarded a rank, and obtaining a rank does not guarantee an offer or admission to an IISER.
