IISER Examination 2023, Application Process starts on April 15; Check for more Details

IISER ranks among India's few analysis institutions that focus on academics rather than post-degree possibilities. The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), established by the Government of India through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), provides collegiate education in basic sciences. The country has seven IISERs: IISER Kolkata, IISER Pune, IISER Mohali, IISER Bhopal, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, IISER Tirupati, and IISER Berhampur. In 2012, the Indian Parliament designated all IISERs as Institutes of National Significance.

The application form for IISER 2023 will be available on April 15. Applicants can fill out the IISER online application form between April 15 and May 25. IISER admits students through three channels: the KVPY Channel, the JEE Advanced Channel, and the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).

EligibilityRequirements for IISER

1. The candidate must be of Indian origin.

2. Students must have completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination level test in science from any board recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE).

3. All across their higher secondary course, the candidate must study at least three subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics.

4. Applicants in the General category must obtain 60% in their higher secondary examination, while those in the SC/ST/PwD categories must obtain 55% in cumulative.

5. Any applicant who has previously been admitted to any of the IISERs is ineligible.

Payment of Fees

Below are some specifics about the Application Fee that must be paid:

  • General candidates must submit an application fee of INR 1500.
  • The SC/ST category and Kashmiri migrants must pay an application fee of INR 750.
  • The payment is not refundable.
