The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is welcoming applications for the newest intake of its Blended Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA-BPGP), specifically designed for individuals who are employed, own businesses, or seek significant growth in management or entrepreneurship without interrupting their professional lives. Interested candidates have until March 25, 2025, to apply via the programme's official website.

This innovative programme, previously referred to as the Online MBA, spans two years and maintains IIMA's distinctive case-based teaching method. It is delivered primarily online, with 80% of the coursework accessible remotely, while the remaining 20% requires attendance on campus. This structure not only offers flexibility but also enriches the educational journey through direct interactions and live sessions held on the institute's premises.
The curriculum, spread across six terms, demands around 900 hours of dedicated instruction and project work, equivalent to 36 credits. It is meticulously crafted to balance professional responsibilities with academic pursuits, enriched by on-campus modules that enhance learning and encourage collaboration among peers.
To be eligible for the BPGP, applicants must meet IIMA's stringent criteria, which includes a minimum of three years of full-time post-graduate work experience and at least 15 years of formal education as per the Indian education system. Prospective students should furnish recent CAT/GMAT/GRE scores or successfully pass the IIMA Admission Test (IAT). This is followed by personal interviews to complete the selection process.
Professor Bharat Bhasker, the Director of IIMA, highlighted the programme's importance in equipping professionals with a competitive edge in today's fast-paced world. He praised its approach to providing accessible, premium management education. The combination of online learning and on-campus sessions, supported by IIMA's esteemed faculty, positions the BPGP as a key player in shaping the future landscape of management education.
Echoing this sentiment, Professor Joshy Jacob, the Chairperson of BPGP, pointed out the programme's commitment to bolstering managerial capabilities. It uniquely blends analytical online classes with in-person sessions aimed at enhancing personal and group management skills. He noted the success of the inaugural batch, which benefited immensely from IIMA's comprehensive academic and extracurricular offerings, eventually joining the ranks of the prestigious IIMA alumni network.
Darayus Mehta, the Founder and Director of technology partner VCNow, underscored the vital role his organization plays in delivering a seamless educational experience. VCNow ensures uninterrupted learning with real-time connectivity and full technical support.
The first cohort of this programme reflected a diverse mix of educational and professional backgrounds, boasting an average work experience of 8.2 years across various sectors. This diversity, with 75% male and 25% female participants, contributed significantly to the richness of the learning environment.
Since its establishment in 1961, IIMA has achieved global recognition for its contributions to management education, securing international accreditations and high rankings in global forums. Its flagship programmes, along with consulting services and executive education offerings, cater to a broad audience, reinforcing its legacy of academic excellence and societal contribution.
